Whilst you are accessing Clear Path Counselling everything that you discuss with me will be confidential – This means that everything that we discuss will not go any further; that confidentiality will only ever be broken if I believe that you are at risk, or that you are a danger to yourself or to others. This is a legal obligation that I abide to.
Other limitations of confidentiality include specific issues relating to The Children’s Act, The Prevention of Terrorism Act, The Money Laundering Act and circumstances relating to the Counsellor being summoned to court.
Your privacy is very important to me and you can therefore be confident that your personal information will be kept safe and secure – To ensure that this is the case I adhere to the current General Data Protection Act (GDPR, 2018). Under the GDPR, I required your consent to store your personal data before and during our work together. This data will be stored securely and only accessible by myself. Your data will be destroyed after 7 years as is required in my profession. You may request to view your data and will be supplied within one month of your enquiry.

In accordance with BACP (British Associate of Counselling Psychotherapy) guidelines, I receive regular supervision. Client confidentiality is always respected within these sessions, except in the exceptional circumstances mentioned above. I will always endeavour to inform you if I feel there is a situation where I feel I might need to break confidentiality.
Clear Path Counselling has a mobile phone – This mobile phone is locked and only accessible by myself.
